  • Wise Wall Project

The Wise Wall Project is an initiative to document the rural wisdom of our villages and celebrate it through art murals. The project aims to improve social health, showcase culture, highlight folktales and generate employment through responsible tourism. The project transforms villages into living classrooms, turning the walls of the same onto blackboards and canvases that uncover striking yet simple life learnings.

  • Homespun

The state of Uttarakhand is endowed with rich cultural heritage, which has been kept alive through its exquisite art and crafts. This exclusive episodic series, presents stories of seven master artisans, who bring these craft forms to life. The wisdom of these artisans acts as a tool of visibility, giving them a platform to narrate their personal stories and their passion celebrating the unrecognized & dying craft practices, which need preservation.

  • Digital Village fellowship

Digital Village Fellowship was a 6 month initiative for imparting education to the children and young adults in the village. Two fellows were appointed to teach English and Computers to the students. The main objective of the fellowship was to provide better quality education, build an alternative space for learning outside the school environment and enable access to Computers, which were not available in local schools.

  • Lessons from the loom

Weaving is one of the oldest traditional crafts of Uttarakhand that provided employment to the women in the hills. The dwindling market for traditional handloom products makes it difficult for them to sustain themselves. In an effort to revive the market and bring forth the stories of women behind the looms, FUEL Foundation Society collaborated with the Hans Foundation, for the program Lessons From The Loom.

  • FUEL Human Festival

FUEL Human Festival is a 4 day immersive journey of self-exploration, story-telling, exchanging philosophies and most importantly learning and sharing the wisdom of our lives with people like and unlike us. The festival provides a platform to local artists from Uttarakhand to showcase their craft, and serves as a source of income by conducting their workshops. Furthermore, the work of the artist was shared widely across social media and led to more income opportunities for the artists.

  • Saur Village Festival

During the Wise Wall Project in Saur, many villagers recounted the fond memory of a fair that used to be celebrated with great fervor before the migration hit the belt. The thought of its revival gave birth to 'Saur Village Festival'. The festival was celebrated with the support of Yuva Mangal Dal, a Jhadipani- based youth social welfare group. The festival created employment opportunities for the local villagers leading towards the efforts of rebuilding Saur.

  • Growth Centre Khyarsi

We are facilitating the setting up of Growth Centres in Khyarsi and Thano, which are strategically planned units with multifold functional benefits for the native agriculture and horticulture communities. We are curating these spaces with a local character based on indigenous style that narrates the story of the region to enable the community in building a connection and sense of belonging.

  • Integrated Livelihood Support Project (ILSP)

ILSP is a joint initiative of the Uttarakhand Government and International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), to reduce poverty by enabling rural households to take up sustainable livelihood opportunities. To celebrate the initiative and promote the incredible work being done by the communities we did a photo postcard series.

  • Wisdom Corridor

The Out of Syllabus Project is an initiative to document, design, collate and celebrate the wisdom of our teachers through stories of their lives and life lessons. The project aims at transforming school aisles into ‘Wisdom Corridors’ i.e. a gallery exhibiting life lessons of teachers that students can stumble upon and refer to when feeling lost or alone.
